The Sunday Times Style Magazine

This job was such fun! So great working with the team at Style Magazine. Photos by Matthew Shave

Here's some backstage pics...

...some process shots and a few before they left for their assignment. One of the dresses was hand painted by Jonathan (the dresses were a nod to Moschino and Saint Laurent)

Blip and The Sugarhill Gang

I first met Blip in Tokyo. He was breakdancing in Yoyogi park on a flattened cardboard box. When I was asked to produce a poster for The Sugarhill Gang's appearance at the Tramlines Festival in Sheffield I knew he would make the perfect model and thankfully he agreed. The posters will be exhibited at the Millennium Gallery from the 24th - 26th of July. The A3 posters will also be available to buy from the gallery.

First of many new characters inspired by our recent trip to Japan.

Introducing Bonteeq...

Bonteeq spends most of his time hanging around the backstreets of Harajuku accidentally interfering with people’s internet connection and emitting a loud humming noise near vending machines. He lives on a diet of tempura-fried USB cables and dropped pixel lattes. He speaks fluent English, Japanese and Fax machine (with a slight Telex accent).

Bonteeq will be joining me in Toronto at TCAF next week. Be sure to stop by and say hello!

Jonathan's sketchbook of drawings from the trip is available HERE.

Momo and the Moon Peach

I was asked by Gallery Nucleus and Nickelodeon Studios to take part in the official art exhibition paying tribute to Avatar : The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra. Here's my piece, Momo and the Moon Peach, and a few making-of shots. The exhibition is open from March 7th -22nd. For more details and sales enquiries click HERE.

The Shape Of Happiness - Coca Cola

Earlier last year I was asked by Coca Cola to be one of seven artists to reinterpret the famous Coca Cola contour bottle (which celebrates is 100th birthday this year) for their 2015 Worldwide Calendar - The Shape of Happiness. Each of the seven artists created their own version of the contour bottle one in a different material including wood, paper, beads, ceramics, clay and, of course, felt.

My version measures approximately 75cm tall (when sitting). My photo is of the German calendar but is being printed worldwide in different languages (the Ukranian version is on eBay!).

The original (and those of the other artists) will be exhibited sometime this year. I'll keep you posted.

PS I hand cut and hand stitched the Coca Cola logo too!
