Flamingo

I was commissioned by a lovely guy from Canada to make a felt flamingo for his wife (thanks A & K) They already own one of my framed beetles and this is going to be box framed and hung alongside. This piece is approx 75cm tall, as usual all hand cut and hand sewn. I really enjoyed making this piece and plan to make other birds but made up ones in a similar way to how I do the beetles so they can be framed.

New work with Kärnuset for UMO

We were asked to design and produce three characters be used both on posters and in an animation. UMO is a website for young people in Sweden with information about sex, health and relationships. The subject for this campaign is is mental health and self-esteem issues. More photos and full credits below.

Felt Mistress Creature Couture Book Launch and Exhibition At Foyles

Last night we had our book launch at Foyles. I had such fun and was so pleased to see so many friends and meet lots of online friends too. We were lucky enough to have the event sponsored by Jelly Belly who supplied us with their gourmet sodas and jelly beans, the colours and flavours were amazing. Also Tunnocks supplied us with boxes full of (G'goobs favourite) Teacakes, milk and dark chocolate I'd never tried the dark chocolate ones and they are delicious. (many thanks to both those companies)
I was a little nervous beforehand about the interview part of the evening but soon got into the swing of it and the audience were great, with lots of interesting questions to ask. I gave my camera to my lovely friend Drew as I knew I wouldn't get a chance to take any photos and he did a brilliant job.
As well as the launch we have an exhibition running until January on the 3rd floor gallery at Foyles (Charing Cross). To celebrate the launch of the book we have an event at Foyles on Charing Cross Rd, London on the 11th December (also includes an exhibition which will run until the 3rd January) it's a free event but you do need to register here
I am also doing two monster making workshops at Foyles one on the 9th of December and one on the 16th December




This weekend I will be at Thought Bubble Festival in Leeds in the New Dock Hall with some copies of the book and gold Tippys as well as other goodies Come along and say hello :)
