"Hey! Who's This Guy?" Show At Nobrow

I am delighted to announce this:

Hope to see you all there! :) Official info below.

Nobrow presents - an exhibition by Felt Mistress "Hey! Who's This Guy?"
The first show dedicated entirely to the work of Felt Mistress comes to the Nobrow Gallery in London this May. "Hey! Who's This Guy?" features all new work from Felt Mistress including framed pieces (new specimens from the FM Beetle Boutique) and a selection of new characters all sporting eyewear from Kirk Originals' collections. The character pieces will be displayed in the gallery more like visitors than exhibits. Visitors to the gallery can peruse the exhibits while the characters can peruse the visitors.

The exhibitions run May 18th until June 23rd with a private view on May 17th.

Felt Mistress AKA Louise Evans is a UK based stitcher and prolific tea drinker who creates a range of one-off bespoke creatures with her partner, illustrator Jonathan Edwards. Originally trained in fashion design and millinery, Louise has brought many of the skills learnt through years of work as a couture dress maker to the world of character design. As well as original Felt Mistress characters Louise has also collaborated with a variety of other artists including Jon Burgerman, Pete Fowler, Ben Newman, and Jon Knox. Her work has been exhibited in the UK and internationally and in 2010 was given her own window on Oxford Street as part of Selfridges' Christmas display. http://www.feltmistress.com/

Kirk Originals have been creating awardwinning eyewear since 1992. Their new flagship store on Conduit St, London W1 has been making headlines in design magazines as well as the fashion and trade press. They have a reputation for bold colourful eyewear and dress the eyes of style leaders all over the world. http://www.kirkoriginals.com/

Nobrow set up in the winter of 2008 with the aim to provide an independent platform for graphic art, Illustration and art comics in the UK and abroad, to become a leading proponent of quality in book design and a standard bearer for original creative content in print publishing. We have published over 30 titles which are distributed all over the world with new releases every month. Nobrow Shop and Gallery opened in 2009 to exhibit the work of exciting graphic artists and illustrators from the world over. Our most recent exhibition occupied the Hayward Gallery Shop with 'This is Not a Pop Up' in January 2012. http://www.nobrow.net/

Pepperdelica in motion

This was shot for fun on my phone just before he was posted off to California for the Jim Henson tribute show at Gallery Nucleus. I'm happy to say he sold on the opening night. As the Muppet film is out this weekend in the UK I thought it'd be a good time to post this.

Wood & Felt Beetle Brooches

These beetle brooches are made from laser cut wood and felt with hand stitched details and are now available in my online shop. I wanted to make something that could be stocked in galleries and shops alongside my one-off pieces. As all my other pieces are one-offs its nice to be able to produce something in multiples but still have the hand finished element. If you are interested in stocking these please email me to discuss further.

Jon Burgerman Collaboration Sneak Peek

Here's a few quick sneaks of the piece I have done for Jon Burgerman's show Fast Food opening at Sergeant Paper in Paris on the 28th January. I have worked with Jon a lot in the past (look here) but it's been a while since our last collaboration and it was nice to be working with him again as he's a tip top guy. If you are in Paris go check out the show I have seen some of work Jon's done for it and it's super. Full reveal of our piece and a "making of" movie clip soon.
